Prof. Ariyarathna Athugala is a Senior Professor in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. He is the former Chairman of Sri Lanka’s national broadcaster Rupavahini and also the former Director General of Department of Government Information, Sri Lanka. He has been teaching since 1991. He is presently teaching advanced Placement Mass Communication (Honours/General), as well as MA, MSSc, PhD and Communication Diploma courses.
