'Chande' - Invitations to a new type of photography competition!

Arts Council of Sri Lanka and the State Photography Advisory Board have started accepting photographs for a new type of photo competition titled "Chande".
The specialty of this photo contest is to take a photo of any opportunity you see related to the election during this election season.
This is not limited to photographers. Anyone can participate in that. Also: small group activities in the community, at home, in the neighborhood, where you are, election rallies, propaganda methods, posters, banners, cut-outs, etc.; Every moment can be captured on your camera. This will undoubtedly be a new and challenging opportunity for you.
At the same time, something special should be remembered in this work. That is, following the advice of the Election Commissioner, taking photographs in a manner that does not violate election laws.

Another photography competition is organized by the Sri Lanka Arts Council and the State Photography Advisory Board. That is called "Rain".
Many artists write poems and songs about rain, and some artists write stories; Draws pictures. But photographers protect their cameras from the rain.
This is the opportunity to go out and capture the "rain" even when it is raining.
You can use any camera you have for this; Even if it's a smartphone camera, no problem.

Arts Council of Sri Lanka, Music Advisory Board, Radio, Press and Social Media Advisory Board, Department of Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs jointly organized the second Program of "Thudu" Vadyabhimani award concert will be held on September 12 at 5.03 PM at "Ape Gama" premises, Battaramulla
In this program to be conducted by the Chairman of the Arts of Sri Lanka Prof. Praneeth Abhayasundara, musicians such as Premnath Kodithuvukku, Sarath De Alvis, and Ernest Zoiza are going to be honored.

The "Vesak Siri Asiri" Photo Exhibition jointly held by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the Photographic Advisory Board was held 31st July at the National Museum Exhibition Hall at the Independance Square Avenue under the chairmanship of Mr. H.M.B.P.Herath, Secretary, Ministry of Buddhashasana, Religous and Cultural Affairs. On that day, the exhibition was opened by the Secretary of the Ministry and the Chairman of the Photography Advisory Council.

State Drama Festival - 2021
The State Drama Festival organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the State Advisory Board for Drama of Arts Council of Sri Lanka on the instructions of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, will be held from 17th February to 06th March 2022 at Elphinstone Theatre, Maradana.
12 length dramas and 20 short dramas were selected for the final round of the Festival. Length dramas are to be staged at 6.30 pm onwards while short dramas are to be staged at 5.30 pm as follows.

Categories to be considered include , Single Episode Tele Drama, Docu- Drama, Tele Drama (Children), Tele Film, Documentary Programme ,Magazine Programme, Musical Programme, Television Songs Visualizing , Children’s Programme., Sports Programme, Dubbing or Sub Titled Production, Animation Production, Multi Camera Production, Talk Show, Educational Programme, Investigative News Reporting, Television Filler, Television Trailer , Television Advertisement, Television Presenter, Television News Reader ,Various Video Programmes that were not telecast, Academic Publications published on television media.
The details and the application could be obtained by sending a self – addressed stamped envelop to “ Director , Department of Cultural Affairs, 8th Floor, Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla.” Or though website www.culturaldept.gov.lk . Creations should produced only on DVD S. DVD S will not be returned after the evaluation process. Closing date will be 31th March 2022. the Telecreation s which have been completed telecasting for the first time in the Sri Lankan television channels will be considered for awards. Drawings for the “State Children’s Art Festival – 2022” are accepted from 14th February to 29th April 2022 at the National Art Gallery, Colombo 07. The radio broadcasting in Sri Lanka has a history of more than nine decades. It has been decided to hold the State Radio Awards Ceremony in the year 2022 concurrently with the World Radio Day to accolade the radio artistes.
