
State Visual Arts Advisory Board is established for the purpose of advising and assisting the Arts council on the general advancement of the visual arts and to support a vibrant community of visual artists, visual arts groups and organizations so that the public can experience the highest standard of visual arts, in Sri Lanka.
Visual Arts include a range of media such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, live art/performance, crafts, Architecture, film, video or other digital imaging media.
State Visual Arts Advisory Board is functioned two ways to promote folk appreciation of the public through the achievement of the above aims.
- Direct activities for the Visual Arts.
- Intervention for the development of Visual Arts.

- Divisional Projects based on Arts and Sculpture .
- National Projects based on Arts and Sculpture.
- International Projects based on Arts and sculpture.

Born in 1963 in Sri Lanka, Jagath Ravindra is one of island’s foremost abstract contemporary painters. Ravindra's work is clearly identified by his bold compositions, representative of the ease with which his practice facilitates a sensitivity to abstract aesthetic and form. Currently the Dean of the Faculty of Visual Arts for the University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Ravindra has presented his work internationally in Bangladesh, Dubai, Nepal, United Kingdom, Pakistan, Korea and Maldives.
